Lesson 1: An Introduction to the Market
An overview of the market, investing, and trading in totality. Further, an introduction to the things which must be analyzed before making a trade or investment. Additionally, a focus on intaking news with an economic perspective.
Lesson 2: A Tour of Fundamentals
An in-depth explanation of qualitative and quantitative fundamentals and their pertinence to investing. An introduction to detailed fundamental analysis and what can be ascertained by its performance. Additionally, an opportunity for students to implement and hone in on their company analysis skills, via in-class activities.
Lesson 3: The Foundation of Technical Analysis
A comprehensive look at market psychology and the impact emotions can have on the respective practices of investing and trading. A dissection of the concepts of fear and greed and their correlation to price movement. An introduction to the basic concepts of technical analysis, such as candlesticks and how to interpret them in series to predict future price movement.
Lesson 4: Cultivating Charting Capabilities
An exhaustive guide to the operation of charting software Trading View. A breakdown of each available feature and how they can be utilized respectively to optimize your technical analysis.
Lesson 5: Refining Charting Competencies
An introduction to supports, resistances, trend lines, areas of high confluence, and gaps using previously learned Trading View knowledge. Students will be taught the meaning of each of these standard indicators and how they can assist a trader in forecasting future price movement.
Lesson 6: The Importance of Indicators
An in-depth tour of a plethora of useful indicators, how they are used, and what they imply. A display of how indicators can be used in tandem, as confirmations of a prior candlestick analysis. Students will have the opportunity to make a series of custom indicator templates that they can utilize in the future.
Lesson 7: A Charting Culmination
A combination of all prior-discussed charting techniques to develop a complete analysis of a specific stock, by iterating through a multitude of different timeframes. Students will apply there knowledge of fundamental and news analysis to ensure that the trade or investment would unfold undisturbed. Students will utilize the alert feature to ensure that they could remain apprised of updates to the play. Further, students will gain insight on how to implement risk management via take profit zones and stop losses.
Lesson 8: Assessing Brokerages and Cryptocurrency
Students will be introduced to and learn to navigate common brokerages for investing, options trading, and cryptocurrency. Our in-house cryptocurrency expert will introduce students to the concept of cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, mining, and cyber security. Further, our expert will illustrate how to scan for promising coins and how technical analysis can be adjusted and applied to cryptocurrencies.
Lesson 9: Getting Contracts and Establishing Guidelines
Students will learn about all the complexities of purchasing and selling an options contract, such as the Greeks, implied volatility, open interest, and filled orders. Students will learn how to allocate leverage and to develop a strict set of trading rules by which to abide. Students will have the opportunity to review the rules created by their peers, and adjust their developed list to be even more comprehensive. We will stress the importance of discipline and holding true to established trading rules.
Lesson 10: The Last Stand
Students will culminate all of the prior lessons, by developing an investment or trade start to finish, using every type of analysis previously discussed in the course. Students will write a full trading or investment plan including specific information and an indication of their inferences. Additionally, students will learn about the tax implications of trading and investing, and how to account for them.
